Linked to a series of thefts of Russian literature across European libraries, two items are now reported stolen from the State Library Munich.

Identifying Characteristics- https://www.digitale-sammlungen.de/de/view/bsb10610206?page=,1 - Binder's binding of cardboard covered with grey and dark blue marbled paper, spine of shiny black linen - Original yellow cover bound in at front and back - Book block foxed throughout, otherwise clean, little used - Page [6], centre: oval stamp "Bayerische Staatsbibliothek München" in Fraktur script, blue, colours through to page [5] (title page of the second volume "Mirgorod") - Page [9], upper third: Oval stamp "Bayerische Staatsbibliothek München" in Fraktur script, blue, colours through into the text in lines 2-4 on page 10 - Page 97, lower margin without text: Oval stamp "Bayerische Staatsbibliothek München" in Fraktur script, blue, colours on page 98 through - Pages 282/283, lower third, blank margin and text (last 8 lines): Rectangular foxing stain, approx. 6x7cm, presumably from a paper slip that lay slightly askew at the centrefold in the book (same stain on pages 280/281 and 284/285, only lighter) - Page 483, lower margin without text: Oval stamp "Bayerische Staatsbibliothek München" in Fraktur script, blue, colours through on page [484] - Page [491], table of contents: Two cancellations. Approx. 2 cm long pencil marks from bottom left to top right - at the beginning of the first line the first three letters in the word "Starosvetskie" are crossed out, at the beginning of the fourth line the first three or four letters in the word "Povest'" are crossed out
