Books stolen from State Library Berlin, replaced by facsimiles

Several suspects consulted books in the rare books reading room, photographed them and returned the following days to replace them with facsimiles (reproducing also shelf marks and stamps). All books are marked with a stamp of "Staatsbibliothek Berlin". All missing items are catalogued in the Staatsbibliothek Catalogue and can be found in case they reappear in the trade. Booksellers are advised to be cautious!
